Independent Electronic Toll Collection (ETC) Audit System

JYW offers a comprehensive, turnkey, independent ETC Audit System that has been successfully implemented on the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel for the NSW Roads and Traffic Authority (RTA), Australia.

This industry first solution combines proven technologies with our extensive experience in the ETC (aka Open Road Tolling) industry to provide an ongoing means of validating and verifying Tollway operations system performance and end-to-end data integrity at the Transaction level.

ETC Audit System Architecture

Our Audit System architecture is based on a proven, best practice data Extract, Transform, and Load (ETL) process framework that is capable of handling multiple high volume source data inputs. At the top end the full system provisions independent vehicle detection and classification (IVDCS), high resolution surveillance (HRSS), source data extraction from our client's systems, audit trail data maintenance and independent data reconciliation, evaluation and reporting.

The Audit System has a number of generic Toll Operations report templates that detail key operational and financial KPIs accessed through a license-free web reporting portal. It also includes an analytical tool that enables client technical resources to examine and use the independent audit trail data for other analytical work such as traffic and cost modeling.

Independent Vehicle Detection and Classification System (IVDCS)

JYW have worked with all major Tolling system vendors and are familiar with their capabilities, strengths and weaknesses, products and solutions. As such, we are able to design and implement cost effective Independent Vehicle Detection and Classification Systems (IVDCS) to most effectively benchmark any given Roadside Tolling System's performance.

High Resolution Surveillance System (HRSS)

JYW know and have worked with a number of leading Close Circuit Television (CCTV) system integrators. We are well versed in the leading CCTV products and relevant emerging technologies such as the advancement of Digital Signal Processing (DSP). This means we are able to implement cost effective, context specific High Resolution Surveillance (HRSS) solutions to support visual verification and validation of the Roadside Tolling System and IVDCS.

ETC Audit System Customisation

JYW has the business, data and system analytical resources to work with clients to identify all relevant information to be extracted from the applicable data sources and maintained in the audit system. We implement the required ETL custom processes to transport and transform the source data into the independent ETC Audit System format.

Further configuration takes place to align with the client's required data snapshot frequency, backup and archiving needs and governance policies. The system can be implemented as a completely hosted, off-site, managed solution, or implemented and delivered into the client's environment as desired.

Wherever needed we develop customised reports to suit our client's requirements, tailoring the output with corporate branding as needed.

The IVDCS and HRSS data may also be used as a 'backup' Roadside Toll Collection System that can be interfaced with the client's central ETC system in the event that the primary roadside system experiences critical outage.

Finally, the ETC Audit System may be extended to become a full-fledged corporate Business Intelligence solution. JYW can work with clients to build a corporate information governance strategy and reporting capability that provides concise and actionable information to management teams, supporting informed decision making.
