Honda teams up with GM on self-driving cars

Honda Motor’s $2.75 million investment in General Motors’ Cruise autonomous vehicle, is a sign that Honda wants to catch rivals in development of self-driving vehicles. Honda will pay $750 million for a 5.7% equity stake and will invest another $2 billion over 12 years while continuing to seek an agreement to use Waymo self-driving technology in its vehicle. ITS World Congress 2019

The ITS World Congress is to be hosted by ITS Singapore next year. As an active member of the ITS Asia Pacific forum, we note that launch of the paper submission officially opened on 1 October. NZTA’s Pilot Internship Program – Summer 2018/19

A note from Henry…

I was able to attend a couple of interesting technical tours as part of the ITS World Congress. Visiting Denmark’s National Transport Management Centre that hosts both the Rail and Road control centres, as well as the Oresund Bridge Control Centre – the smart link between Denmark and Sweden.
